The OEM handbrake button often breaks within the internal mechanism of the handbrake, resulting in the handbrake not working as it should. The button’s arms that slot into the internals of the mechanism or the shoulder on the bottom of the button can often snap resulting in the button becoming lodged in place and unable to press in or out, or it can come loose and fall out entirely. This is because the OEM button is made of very thin plastic and is not made to last the lifespan of the vehicle.

The metal alloy improved button is of the exact same design as the OEM button, however it is made of alloy metal which strengthens the button meaning it will not break inside the mechanism.
